The Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers meet Monday in NBA action at the Staples Center.
The Golden State Warriors look for another win to build on their seven-game winning streak. The Golden State Warriors are averaging 118.5 points on 48.8 percent shooting and allowing 111.9 points on 44.8 percent shooting. Stephen Curry is averaging 29.8 points and 5.4 assists while Kevin Durant is averaging 28.1 points and 7.4 rebounds. Klay Thompson is the third double-digit scorer and DeMarcus Cousins is grabbing six rebounds. The Golden State Warriors are shooting 38.9 percent from beyond the arc and 81.9 percent from the free throw line. The Golden State Warriors are allowing 35 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 46.5 rebounds per game. The Golden State Warriors have won their last six road games.
The Los Angeles Lakers need a statement win after splitting their last eight games. The Los Angeles Lakers are averaging 112.4 points on 47.2 percent shooting and allowing 111.4 points on 44.2 percent shooting. LeBron James is averaging 27.3 points and 7.1 assists while Kyle Kuzma is averaging 19.3 points and 6.1 rebounds. Brandon Ingram is the third double-digit scorer and JaVale McGee is grabbing 6.9 rebounds. The Los Angeles Lakers are shooting 33.6 percent from beyond the arc and 69 percent from the free throw line. The Los Angeles Lakers are allowing 34.7 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 47.6 rebounds per game. The Los Angeles Lakers have lost five of their last eight home games.
The Warriors are 6-16-1 ATS in their last 23 vs. Western Conference, 13-4-1 ATS in their last 18 Monday games and 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall. The Lakers are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 Monday games, 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 home games and 7-1 ATS in their last 8 vs. NBA Pacific. The Warriors are 1-4 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Los Angeles and 1-4 ATS in the last 5 meetings. The under is 6-2 in Lakers last 8 overall. The over is 4-1 in Warriors last 5 overall.
As if things couldn't get much worse for the Lakers, they're now without Lonzo Ball for at least a month due to an ankle injury. The Golden State Warriors are as healthy as they've been all year with the return of Cousins, and they're winning by an average of 19.6 points in their last five games while shooting 51.9 percent from the field. The Warriors are easily playing their best ball of the season right now and are an impressive 12-4 ATS this season as a double-digit favorite. I'm just not comfortable backing the Lakers with all of their injuries against a Warriors club that's flipped the switch and is beating the brakes off of teams right now. The Warriors also have revenge on their mind with the way the last meeting against the Lakers went.
