|Date & Time||Tuesday March 26, 2019, 10:30 PM (EDT)|
Los Angeles, CA
The Line: Los Angeles -2 -- Over/Under 233
The Washington Wizards pay a visit to the Los Angeles Lakers at the STAPLES Center on Tuesday night.
The Washington Wizards have been in a rut as they’ve lost five of their last six games and they will be hoping to snap a four-game skid after falling short against the Heat in a 113-108 home loss on Saturday. Jeff Green led the team in scoring with 25 points on nine of 12 shooting off the bench, Thomas Bryant added 17 points while Bradley Beal chipped in with 16 points. As a team, the Wizards shot just 42 percent from the field and nine of 30 from the 3-point line as they hung with the Heat in a close contest until the fourth quarter where Dwyane Wade scored 11 of his 20 points to help the Heat steal the game late. With the tough loss, Washington fell to 30-44 overall and 22-16 at home.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers have been in a serious slump as they’ve lost 10 of their last 12 games, but they will be breathing a little sigh of relief after snapping a five-game skid with a hard-fought 111-106 home win over the Kings on Sunday. LeBron James led the team with a triple-double of 29 points with 11 rebounds and 11 assists, Kyle Kumza got hot in the third quarter to finish with 29 points of his own while JaVale McGee chipped in with 17 points, 14 rebounds and five blocks. As a team, the Lakers shot 45 percent from the field and 13 of 40 from the 3-point line as they gained separation with 39 points in the third quarter before holding off a late rally from the Kings behind some clutch free throws from James. With the much-needed win, Los Angeles improved to 32-41 overall and 19-17 at home.
Looking at the betting trends, the Wizards are 13-34 ATS in their last 47 road games, 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a losing record and the Wizards are 6-1 ATS in their last seven against the Western Conference. The Lakers are 1-5 ATS in their last six home games, 6-25-1 ATS in their last 32 against the Eastern Conference.
Head to head, the over is 11-5 in the last 16 meetings in Los Angeles and the Wizards are 6-2 ATS in the last eight meetings in Los Angeles.
The Wizards have been well below their best lately, but they were right there with the Heat until the fourth quarter so they might be feeling a little unlucky. Meanwhile, the Lakers were in a world of hurt before their narrow win over the Kings in their last outing. The Wizards beat the Lakers by 128-110 in the lone meeting this season and they are 6-2 ATS in the last eight meetings in Los Angeles, but they're just 13-34 ATS in their last 47 road games so I'm sticking with the Lakers to get their revenge in this one.
