The Dallas Mavericks pay a visit to the Los Angeles Clippers on NBA TNT Thursday.
The Clippers kicked off their season with a solid road win, beating the Kings by 111-104 last night. Blake Griffin dominated with an efficient 33 points on 14 of 20 shooting, Chris Paul added 18 points and 11 assists while JJ Redick added 15 points as the Clippers shot a healthy 52.5 percent from the field. Now, the Clippers head back home where they will play five of their next six games.
Meanwhile, the Mavericks also played their first game of the season last night, making light work of the Suns in a 111-95 romp. A total of eight players finished in double figures in scoring with Raymond Felton leading the way with 18 points. Deron Williams had a nice game of 12 points and seven assists in just 20 minutes with his new team while Dirk Nowitzki added 11 points and nine rebounds.
In ATS trends, the Mavs are 16-33-2 ATS int heir last 51 against the Western Conference and 0-4 ATS in their last four road games, while the Clippers are 4-0-1 ATS in the last five games playing on zero days rest and 3-9 ATS in their last 12 home games.
Head to head, the Mavs are 8-3 ATS in the last 11 meetings in Los Angeles and the Over is 8-0 in the last eight meetings overall.
Both squads looked pretty good to start the season so I'm suprised that the line for this game is so lopsided. I still like the Clippers to win this game but I don't think they will cover the hefty spread.
