The Cleveland Cavaliers and Memphis Grizzlies meet Wednesday in NBA action at the FedExForum.
The Cleveland Cavaliers could use a victory here after losing five of their last six games. The Cleveland Cavaliers are averaging 102.8 points on 44.7 percent shooting and allowing 111.6 points on 48.6 percent shooting. Jordan Clarkson is averaging 16.9 points and 2.2 assists while Collin Sexton is averaging 14.8 points and 2.5 assists. Rodney Hood is the third double-digit scorer and Tristan Thompson is grabbing 11.6 rebounds. The Cleveland Cavaliers are shooting 35.2 percent from beyond the arc and 78.1 percent from the free throw line. The Cleveland Cavaliers are allowing 36.5 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 43.3 rebounds per game. The Cleveland Cavaliers have lost five of their last seven road games.
The Memphis Grizzlies could also use a win here after losing seven of their last nine games. The Memphis Grizzlies are averaging 101.9 points on 45.5 percent shooting and allowing 102.2 points on 44.6 percent shooting. Mike Conley is averaging 20.5 points and 6.5 assists while Marc Gasol is averaging 16.1 points and 8.6 rebounds. Jaren Jackson Jr. is the third double-digit scorer and JaMychal Green is grabbing 6.4 rebounds. The Memphis Grizzlies are shooting 35.8 percent from beyond the arc and 75.8 percent from the free throw line. The Memphis Grizzlies are allowing 35.6 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 39.7 rebounds per game. The Memphis Grizzlies have lost five of their last seven home games.
The Cavaliers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 vs. NBA Southwest, 17-35-1 ATS in their last 53 vs. Western Conference and 4-10 ATS in their last 14 Wednesday games. The Grizzlies are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 vs. Eastern Conference, 2-5 ATS in their last 7 home games and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall. The Cavaliers are 9-3 ATS in the last 12 meetings in Memphis and 16-6 ATS in the last 22 meetings. The under is 4-0 in Grizzlies last 4 overall. The under is 4-1 in Cavaliers last 5 road games.
There's good reason why the Cleveland Cavaliers are big underdogs, as they're one of the worst teams in the league, they're being outscored by 13.8 points in their last five games and 11.1 points on the road this season. The Cavs aren't playing a lick of defense and get crushed more times than not. The problem is the Memphis Grizzlies aren't playing well in their own right, as they're being outscored by 5.4 points in their last five games and are only outscoring teams by 2.5 points at home. Also, the Grizzlies haven't been a double-digit favorite since April of 2017. If I had to pick this game, I'd take the Cavs and the points.
