The Line: Memphis +1 -- Over/Under 207.5
The Orlando Magic travel to the FedEx Forum to take on the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday night.
The Orlando Magic have been on a nice run lately as they’ve won 11 of their last 15 games and they will be feeling pretty good after putting a halt to a two-game skid with a 111-106 home win over the Mavericks on Friday. Terrence Ross led the team with 22 points off the bench, Nikola Vucevic added 20 points with 13 rebounds and six assists while Aaron Gordon chipped in with 18 points. As a team, the Magic shot 48 percent from the field and 14 of 29 from the 3-point line as they dominated the Mavericks for most of the game, pouring in 62 points in the first half to lead by as many as 19 points in the fourth quarter before holding off a late rally from the Mavericks’ Dirk Nowitzki who scored nine straight points. With the narrow win, Orlando improved to 31-36 overall and 18-16 at home.
Meanwhile, the Memphis Grizzlies really have nothing to play for at this stage of the season, but they’ve sprung to life with four wins in their last six games and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after beating the Jazz by 114-104 home win on Friday. Mike Conley led the team with 28 points and 11 assists, Jonas Valanciunas added 27 points while Ivan Rabb chipped in with 15 points off the bench. As a team, the Grizzlies shot 51 percent from the field and nine of 22 from the 3-point line and it was really because of the start they had as they set the tone with their defense in the first quarter before Conley took them over the line with his scoring in the fourth quarter. With the win, Memphis improved to 27-40 on the season and 17-17 at home.
Looking at the betting trends, the Magic are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 games playing on one days rest, 0-4 ATS in their last four games against a team with a losing record and 4-1 ATS in their last five Sunday games. The Grizzlies are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 home games, 5-2 ATS in their last seven games following a win and 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall.
Head to head, the home team is 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings, the Magic are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings overall and 5-11 ATS in the last 16 meetings in Memphis.
The Magic have been in great shape lately with 11 wins in their last 15, but the Grizzlies have been playing some good basketball themselves with Conley leading the way. The Magic are the team in better form at the moment, but they are just 0-4 ATS in their last four games against a team with a losing record and 5-11 ATS in the last 16 meetings against the Grizzlies in Memphis. With that being said, I’m sticking with the Grizzlies to get another win at home where they are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games.
