The Phoenix Suns and the Memphis Grizzlies duke it out at the FedExForum on Saturday night.
The Phoenix Suns will be hoping to put an end to a three-game losing streak after getting blown out by the Lakers in a 131-113 home loss on Wednesday. Devin Booker led the team with 23 points and seven assists, DeAndre Ayton added 22 points with 11 rebounds while Trevor Ariza and Tyson Chandler finished with 14 points apiece. As a team, the Suns shot 52 percent from the field and 10 of 31 from the three-point line but they committed 19 turnovers which led to easy baskets for the Lakers who had seven players finish in double figures.
Meanwhile, the Memphis Grizzlies were aiming for a third straight win before losing to the Kings in a 97-92 road loss on Wednesday. Mike Conley led the team with 27 points and five assists, Jaren Jackson Jr. added 14 points while Wayne Selden chipped in with 13 points off the bench. As a team, the Grizzlies shot just 38 percent from the field and 10 of 37 from the three-point line as they competed well to lead for most of the game but they just couldn’t find their offense in the second half where they were outscored by 53-40. Marc Gasol scored just 10 points on four of 13 shooting while Garett Temple finished with just three points on one of seven shooting.
Looking at the betting trends, the Suns are 0-7 ATS in their last seven games playing on two days rest and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games overall. The Grizzlies are 4-0 ATS in their last four home games, 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games against a team with a losing record and 9-4 A TS in their last 13 games overall.
Head to head, the over is 9-3 in the last 12 meetings in Memphis and the home team is 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings.
The Grizzlies were building some nice momentum with wins over the Hawks and the Jazz but they went ice-cold against the Kings and fell short. The Suns kicked off their season with a win but they haven’t looked likely since as they’ve now lost three straight by at least 18 points. This could be a close one but the home team has covered in five of the last six meetings and I think that continues with the Grizzlies winning this one.
