Sacramento Kings at Memphis Grizzlies
|Date & Time||Friday January 25, 2019, 8:00 PM (EST)|
The Line: Memphis -2.5
The Memphis Grizzlies play host to the Sacramento Kings at the FedEx Forum on Friday night.
The Sacramento Kings have been in decent shape as they’ve won five of their last nine games, but they will be hoping to avoid a third straight defeat after falling to the Raptors in a 120-105 road win on Tuesday. Marvin Bagley III led the team with 22 points and 11 rebounds, Bojan Bogdanovic racked up 16 points with eight rebounds and nine assists while Buddy Hield chipped in with 15 points and five assists. As a team, the Kings shot 45 percent from the field and seven of 21 from the 3-point line but playing on the second night of a back to back set without their leading scorer in De’Aaron Fox, the Kings just didn’t have enough to hang with the Raptors. With the loss, Sacramento fell to 24-24 overall and 10-14 on the road.
Meanwhile, the Memphis Grizzlies have been in a serious slump as they’ve lost 13 of their last 14 games and they will be hoping to stop a seven-game skid after falling to the Hornets in a 118-107 home loss on Wednesday. Mike Conley led the team with 31 points on 10 of 17 shooting, Marc Gasol racked up a triple-double of 22 points with 17 rebounds and 10 assists while Jaren Jackson Jr. chipped in with 15 points. As a team, the Grizzlies shot 46 percent from the field and nine of 31 from the 3-point line but it wasn’t enough to get past the Hornets who were led by Walker who scored 15 points in the fourth quarter to hold out the Grizzlies. With the loss, Memphis fell to 19-29 overall and 11-12 at home.
Looking at the betting trends, the Kings are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a losing record, 1-7 ATS in their last eight road games and 13-5 ATS in their last 18 games following a loss of more than 10 points. The Grizzlies are 1-9 ATS in their last 10 home games, 1-7 ATS int heir last eight home games against a team with a losing road record and 6-21 ATS in their last 27 games overall.
Head to head, the under is 16-5 in the last 21 meetings overall, the Kings are 4-10 ATS in the last 14 meetings overall and 8-20-1 ATS in the last 29 meetings in Memphis.
The Grizzlies just can’t buy a win these days as they’ve lost 13 of their last 14 games and team morale can’t be that great given that both Mike Conley and Marc Gasol are on the trade block. The Kings have had their ups and downs this season but they will be doing it tough until De’Aaron Fox comes back from that toe injury. The Grizzlies are 10-4 ATS in the last 14 meetings overall, but you just can’t trust them at all these days, so I’m going with the shorthanded Kings to come away with the win in this one.
