The Cleveland Cavaliers pay a visit to the Miami Heat at the American Airlines Arena on Friday night.
The Cleveland Cavaliers have been in rough shape as they've lost six of their last seven games and they will be hoping to put a halt to a four-game skid after falling to the Grizzlies in a 95-87 road loss on Wednesday. Jordan Clarkson led the team in scoring with 24 points on 10 of 20 shooting off the bench, Collin Sexton added 16 points with six assists while Cedi Osman chipped in with 10 points but no other player finished in double figures as the Cavaliers shot just 35 percent from the field and nine of 29 from the 3-point line but you could just tell it wasn't going to be their night after they managed to score just nine points in the first quarter. With the loss, Cleveland fell to 8-27 overall and 3-14 on the road.
Meanwhile, the Miami Heat have been in great form but they will be looking to bounce back after having their five-game win streak snapped by the Raptors in a 106-104 home loss on Wednesday. Justise Winslow led the team in scoring with 21 points, Josh Richardson added 17 points while Hassan Whiteside chipped in with 16 points and 12 rebounds. As a team, the Heat shot a healthy 51 percent from the field and 12 of 29 from the 3-point line but they will be kicking themselves leading by as many as 17 points early in the third quarter before the Raptors took over. With the tough loss, Miami dropped to 16-17 on the season and 7-10 at home.
Looking at the betting trends, the Cavaliers are 5-1 ATS in their last six road games against a team with a losing home record and 0-4 ATS in their last four Friday games. The Heat are 5-1 ATS in their last six home games, 13-3 ATS in their last 16 games overall and 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record.
Head to head, the home team is 12-3 ATS in the last 15 meetings and the Cavaliers are 1-6 ATS in the last seven meetings in Miami.
The Cavaliers been one of the worst teams in the league from day one and they've been in rough shape as they've lost six of their last seven games. The Heat were enjoying a season-high five-game win streak before falling just short against the league-leading Raptors on Wednesday, so they've actually been one of the hottest teams in the league lately. With that being said, The Heat are 13-3 ATS in their last 16 games overall and 5-1 ATS in their last six home games and I expect both of those trends to continue as they bounce back with an easy home win here.
