The Memphis Grizzlies pay a visit to the Miami Heat at the American Airlines Arena on Saturday night.
The Memphis Grizzlies have really been struggling over the last four weeks as they’ve lost 11 of their last 14 games but they will be feeling better after snapping a six-game losing streak with a 96-86 home win over the Spurs on Wednesday. Marc Gasol led the team with 26 points, 14 rebounds and three assists, Mike Conley added 15 points with six assists while Jaren Jackson Jr. and JaMychal Green each scored 12 points. As a team, the Grizzlies shot just 41 percent from the field and eight of 33 from the 3-point line but they set the tone with their defense, holding the Spurs to just 31 points in the first half and just 36 percent shooting for the game. With the much-needed win, Memphis improved to 19-22 overall and 11-9 at home.
Meanwhile, the Miami Heat have been in great form as they’ve won nine of their last 13 games and they will be looking to stay hot after blowing past the Celtics in a 115-99 home win on Thursday. Dwyane Wade led the team in scoring with 19 points on eight of 12 shooting off the bench, Josh Richardson added 18 points with six assists while Justise Winslow chipped in with 13 points, seven rebounds and a career-high 11 assists. As a team, the Heat shot 47 percent from the field and a season-high 18 of 39 from the 3-point line as they dominated the Celtics to lead by as many as 26 points before holding off a late rally for the comfortable win to improve to 20-20 overall and 10-12 at home.
Looking at the betting trends, the Grizzlies are 1-7 ATS in their last eight road games, 0-4 ATS in their last four games following a win and 6-18 ATS in their last 24 games overall. The Heat are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games following a win, 4-12 ATS in their last 16 home games against a team with a losing road record and 12-5 ATS in their last 17 games overall.
Head to head, the road team is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings, the over is 4-0 in the last four meetings in Miami and the Grizzlies are 7-3-1 ATS in the last 11 meetings overall.
The Heat have been on a nice run lately and they’re coming into this one fresh off a dominant win over the Celtics so they’ll be confident, but the Grizzlies have been in a slump for too long now so they will be keen to build on their upset win over the Spurs in their last outing. These teams met once early this season and it was the Heat who won by 100-97 back on Dec 14. The Heat are 12-5 ATS in their last 17 games overall while the Grizzlies are 1-7 ATS in their last eight road games so I’m sticking with the more reliable Heat to complete the season sweep with a narrow win here.
