The Miami Heat play host to the Milwaukee Bucks at the American Airlines Arena on Friday night.
The Milwaukee Bucks have been in fine form as they’ve won 10 of their past 13 games and they will be looking to stay hot after blowing past the Pelicans in a 130-113 road win on Tuesday. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the team with 24 points, nine rebounds and five assists, Khris Middleton added 23 points with seven assists while Malcolm Brogdon chipped in with 18 points. As a team, the Bucks shot 49 percent from the field and 10 of 36 from the 3-point line as they took an eight-point lead going into halftime before blowing the Pelicans out in the third quarter where they poured in 45 points. With the win, Milwaukee improved to a league-best 51-17 overall and 24-12 on the road.
Meanwhile, the Miami Heat have been on a nice run themselves as they’ve won six of their last eight games and they will be looking to stay hot after making light work of the Pistons in a 108-74 home win on Wednesday. Justise Winslow led the team in scoring with 16 points, Dion Waiters added 14 points while Hassan Whiteside and Josh Richardson each scored 13 points. As a team, the Heat shot 46 percent from the field and 11 of 28 from the 3-point line, but this win was all about their defense in the third quarter where they held the Pistons to just eight points. With the dominant win, Miami improved to 32-25 overall and 16-19 at home which is currently good for eighth place in the Eastern Conference standings.
Looking at the betting trends, the Bucks are 4-0-2 ATS in their last six games playing on two days rest, 18-7-2 ATS in their last 27 road games and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games overall. The Heat are 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record, 1-4 ATS in their last five home games against a team with a winning road record and 6-2 ATS in their last eight games overall.
Head to head, the home team is 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings, the Bucks are 1-6 ATS in the last seven meetings overall and the Bucks are 0-5 ATS in the last five meetings in Miami.
Both teams are in winning form as the season series is currently tied at 1-1, but the Bucks won the last meeting by 124-86 back on Jan 15. The Heat need this win more as they need their aiming to hold onto that eighth spot in the standings, but the Bucks are certainly tempting with the line being so short. However, the Bucks are 0-5 ATS in the last five meetings in Miami and I think that trend continues as the Heat pull off the upset in a statement home win.
