NBA | New Orleans Pelicans (0-3) at Miami Heat (1-3)
Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

Wednesday NBA preseason action pits the New Orleans Pelicans at the Miami Heat.

The New Orleans Pelicans are gunning for their first win of the NBA preseason after a 106-100 loss to the NY Knicks dropped the team to 0-3. Ne Orleans held a slight 38%-35.8% shooting edge but the Knicks totaled 15 more shot attempts and their own 16-30 effort at the stripe did them in.

Nikola Mirotic was the Pelicans top gun with 19 points and 12 rebounds on 7-20 from the field while the duo of Anthony Davis and Darius Miller tossed in 15 points apiece on 10-27 accuracy with Davis hauling in a team high 13 rebounds. New Orleans received 13 points from E’Twaun Moore on 5-9 from the floor followed by a 12 point effort from Jrue Holiday on 5-9 accuracy.

The Miami Heat squeezed by Orlando 90-89 on Monday for their first victory in the NBA preseason. Miami mustered just 41.3% shooting and held the Magic to just 37.8% accuracy which negated ten more Orlando looks at the basket. This wasn’t a pretty game with both squads combining for 34 turnovers and a 17-56 performance from long range.

Rodney McGruder was the top offensive option for the Heat with 19 points, eight rebounds and five assists on 7-12 followed by Goran Dragic with 16 points and five helpers on 6-10 from the field. Kelly Olynyk gave Miami 12 points on 4-8 accuracy while Justise Winslow added eleven points and four yanks on 4-9 shooting.

Pelicans are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 Wednesday games and Pelicans are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following a straight up loss and Pelicans are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 road games. Heat are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 home games and under is 6-1 in Heat last 7 games following a ATS loss and Heat are 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 games following a straight up win. Pelicans are 1-5 ATS in the last 6 meetings and Pelicans are 2-6 ATS in the last 8 meetings in Miami and over is 9-4 in the last 13 meetings.

After the last games these teams played I'm looking at the high total and thinking under...

under 226.5

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
