|Date & Time||Friday May 3, 2019, 8:00 PM (EDT)|
The Line: Boston Celtics -2 -- Over/Under: 220
The Milwaukee Bucks and Boston Celtics meet Friday in game three of the second round NBA playoffs at the TD Garden.
The Milwaukee Bucks look to build on their game two victory while taking home court back and a 2-1 series lead. The Milwaukee Bucks are averaging 116.7 points on 47.1 percent shooting and allowing 101 points on 41.3 percent shooting. Giannis Antetokounmpo is averaging 26 points and 10.8 rebounds while Khris Middleton is averaging 20 points and 6.5 rebounds. Eric Bledsoe is the third double-digit scorer and Brook Lopez is grabbing 4.7 rebounds. The Milwaukee Bucks are shooting 37.6 percent from beyond the arc and 74.9 percent from the free throw line. The Milwaukee Bucks are allowing 34.9 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 51.7 rebounds per game. The Milwaukee Bucks have won six of their last eight road games.
The Boston Celtics look to remain undefeated at home in the playoffs while taking a 2-1 series lead. The Boston Celtics are averaging 101.8 points on 45.2 percent shooting and allowing 96.7 points on 39.9 percent shooting. Kyrie Irving is averaging 20.8 points and 7.7 assists while Jayson Tatum is averaging 14.3 points and 5.5 rebounds. Al Horford is the third double-digit scorer and Jaylen Brown is grabbing 6.2 rebounds. The Boston Celtics are shooting 39.5 percent from beyond the arc and 77.9 percent from the free throw line. The Boston Celtics are allowing 35.6 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 47.8 rebounds per game. The Boston Celtics have won eight of their last 13 home games.
The Bucks are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 Friday games, 20-7-1 ATS in their last 28 road games and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall. The Celtics are 1-8-1 ATS in their last 10 home games, 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 games playing on 2 days rest and 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Bucks are 1-6 ATS in the last 7 meetings in Boston and 4-11 ATS in the last 15 meetings. The over is 4-1 in Celtics last 5 games playing on 2 days rest. The over is 4-1 in Bucks last 5 overall.
The Milwaukee Bucks have covered each of their last six road games as an underdog. The Boston Celtics have failed to cover 10 of their last 14 home games as a home favorite.
Those trends obviously lean toward the Bucks, but the Celtics have pretty much been the better team in this series for six of the eight quarters. If the Celtics decided to show in the third quarter of game three, we could be looking at a 2-0 series right now. The Celtics seem to have a good gameplay defensively to slow these Bucks down, and I don't expect the Bucks to hit those outside shots on the road at the same clip they did in their game two victory. The TD Garden isn't easy to play this time of year, and the Bucks lost all four road games in last years playoff series by an average of 10.25 points.
I'll lay the bucket.
