The Line: Milwaukee -11 -- Over/Under 228.5
The Charlotte Hornets and the Milwaukee Bucks duke it out at the Bradley Center on Friday night.
The Charlotte Hornets are starting to build some momentum with four wins in their last five outings and they will be looking to stay hot after taking down the Grizzlies in a 118-107 road win on Wednesday. Kemba Walker led the team with 22 points, seven rebounds and four assists, Nicolas Batum added 18 points while Jeremy Lamb and Tony Parker each scored 17 points. As a team, the Hornets shot 53 percent from the field and 12 of 30 from the 3-point line as they jumped out to an early lead before holding off a late rally from the Grizzlies thanks to Walker to scored 15 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter. With the much-needed win, Charlotte improved to 23-24 overall and 7-16 on the road.
Meanwhile, the Milwaukee Bucks have been in sizzling form lately as they’ve won 12 of their last 14 games and they will be gunning for a sixth straight victory after taking down the Mavericks in a 116-106 home win on Monday. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the team with 31 points, 15 rebounds and five assists, Eric Bledsoe added 21 points with five assists, Malcolm Brogdon scored 19 points while Brook Lopez chipped in with 16 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks. As a team, the Bucks shot 46 percent from the field and 12 of 32 from the 3-point line as they outscored the Mavericks by 59-47 in the second half to run away with it after squandering an early 11-point lead. With the easy win, Milwaukee improved to 34-12 overall and 21-4 at home.
Looking at the betting trends, the Hornets are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 road games, 1-6 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall. The Bucks are 6-2 ATS in their last eight home games, 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a losing record and 10-3-1 ATS in their last 14 games overall.
Head to head, the home team is 6-0-1 ATS in the last seven meetings, the Hornets are 4-0-1 ATS in the last five meetings overall and 6-2-1 ATS in the last nine meetings in Milwaukee.
The Hornets are starting to heat up with four wins in their last five games but the Bucks have been in red-hot form for a while now as they’ve won 12 of their last 14. The Hornets are also 4-0-1 ATS in the last five meetings overall and they actually beat the Bucks by 110-107 in the team’s last meeting back on Nov 26. I have the Bucks winning this one comfortably at home, but this just seems like too many free points to give the Hornets who have played the Bucks close twice this season.
