The Milwaukee Bucks play host to the New Orleans Pelicans at the Fiserv Forum on Wednesday night.
The New Orleans Pelicans have split their last 10 games and they will be looking to bounce back after falling to the Heat in a 102-96 home loss on Sunday. Anthony Davis led the way with 27 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists, Jrue Holiday added 22 points with four assists while Julius Randle chipped in with 17 points and 10 rebounds. As a team, the Pelicans shot just 40 percent from the field and 13 of 36 from the 3-point line so they needed better production from everyone, particularly their bench who were outscored by the Heat’s bench by 58-20. With the loss, New Orleans dropped to 15-16 on the season and 11-5 at home.
Meanwhile, the Milwaukee Bucks have been in great form as they’ve won four of their last five games and they will be gunning for a third straight victory after escaping Detroit with a 107-104 road win on Monday. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the team with 32 points, 12 rebounds and five assists, Khris Middleton added 22 points with six assists while Eric Bledsoe chipped in with 17 points and nine assists. As a team, the Bucks shot 50 percent from the field and nine of 25 from the 3-point line as they escaped with the narrow win after squandering a 14-point lead late in the third quarter. With the win, Milwaukee improved to 20-9 on the season and 7-6 on the road.
Looking at the betting trends, the Pelicans are 5-0 ATS in their last five games following a loss, 4-9 ATS in their last 13 road games and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games against a team with a winning record. The Bucks are 11-5-1 ATS in their last 17 home games, 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a losing record and 3-1-1 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the over is 4-0 in the last four meetings, the Pelicans are 6-2 ATS in the last eight meetings in Milwaukee and the Pelicans are 11-4 ATS in the last 15 meetings overall.
These two squads have yet to meet this season but the Bucks have clearly been the team in better form coming into this one. The Pelicans have had nice wins over the Thunder and the Pistons in recent games, but they’ve been a poor road team as they’ve won just four of 15 road games so far. With that being said, I’m going with the more consistent Bucks who are 11-5-1 ATS in their last 17 home games.
