The Milwaukee Bucks play host to the Utah Jazz at the Fiserv Forum on Monday night.
The Utah Jazz have been in pretty good form lately as they’ve won six of their last nine games and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after sneaking past the Pistons in a 110-105 road win on Saturday. Donovan Mitchell led the team with 26 points and five assists, Ricky Rubio added 18 points with four assists while Joe Ingles chipped in with 16 points. As a team, the Jazz shot 47 percent from the field and seven of 21 from the 3-point line but they really had to scrap till the end after a slow start meant they were trailing by as many as 18 points in the first quarter. The Jazz get next to no support from their bench, especially Jae Crowder who scored just four points on one of eight shooting, but they forced the Pistons into 18 turnovers while outscoring them by 25-16 at the free throw line. With the win, Utah improved to 20-20 overall and 12-12 on the road.
Meanwhile, the Milwaukee Bucks have been in great form as they’ve won nine of their last 11 games but they will be looking to bounce back after having their five-game win streak halted by the Raptors in a 123-116 home loss on Saturday. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the team with 43 points, 18 rebounds and four assists, Malcolm Brogdon added 15 points with five assists while Khris Middleton and Eric Bledsoe each scored 14 points. As a team, the Bucks shot 49 percent from the field and 14 of 37 from the 3-point line as they took the early lead but they couldn’t hold off the Raptors who turned the game with a 26-12 run to start the third quarter. with the loss, Milwaukee dropped to 27-11 on the season and 18-4 at home.
Looking at the betting trends, the Jazz are 3-1-1 ATS in their last five road games, 2-5 ATS in their last seven games following a win and 1-6 ATS in their last seven games against a team above .600. The Bucks are 4-0 ATS in their last four games following a loss, 4-1 ATS in their last five home games and 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall.
Head to head, the home team is 16-6 ATS in the last 22 meetings, the Jazz are 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings in Milwaukee and the Jazz are 25-6 ATS in the last 31 meetings overall.
The Jazz have gone through some minor struggles this season but they look to be gaining some momentum with six wins in their last nine outings, but the Bucks have been the benchmark of the league in the early going and they will be keen to bounce back after a rare home loss on Saturday. Utah have actually won 21 of the last 26 meetings between the teams and they are a dominant 25-6 ATS in the last 31 meetings overall, but the Bucks are a different team this season and I expect them to bounce back at home with a statement win in this one.
