The Minnesota Timberwolves play host to the Houston Rockets at the Target Center on Wednesday night.

The Houston Rockets have been building some nice momentum with seven wins in their last 10 games and they will be aiming for a fifth win in six games after taking down the Mavericks in a 120-104 home win on Monday. James Harden led the way with 31 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and five steals, Gerald Green added 19 points off the bench, Eric Gordon scored 18 points while Kenneth Faried and Chris Paul each scored 17 points. As a team, the Rockets shot just 46 percent from the field and 23 of 60 from the 3-point line as they cruised to victory after taking a 14-point lead going into halftime. With the win, Houston improved to 33-23 overall and 20-9 at home.

Meanwhile, the Minnesota Timberwolves have been in a rut as they’ve lost six of their last eight games, but they will be looking to build some momentum after snapping a four-game skid with a 130-120 home win over the Clippers on Monday. Karl-Anthony Towns led the team with 24 points and 10 rebounds, Derrick Rose returned from a three-game absence to finish with 22 points and six assists off the bench while Dario Saric and Jeff Teague each scored 19 points. As a team, the Timberwolves shot a healthy 52 percent from the field and six of 18 from the 3-point line as they dominated the undermanned Clippers to lead by as many as 23 points. With the easy win, Minnesota improved to 26-30 overall and 18-10 at home.

Looking at the betting trends, the Rockets are 2-6 ATS in their last eight road games, 1-5 ATS in their last six games against a team with a losing record and 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games overall. The Timberwolves are 1-5 ATS in their last six home games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games overall.

Head to head, the home team is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings, the over is 17-6 in the last 23 meetings and the Rockets are 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings.

The Rockets have been able to keep their heads above water thanks to Harden who is on a historic scoring streak and they’re slowly getting better as Paul works himself back into his full workload. The Timberwolves have been in a slump but they sprung back to life on Monday thanks to the return of Rose. The Rockets are just 2-6 ATS in their last eight road games, but they are 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings and just poured in 23 3-pointers on Monday, so I think they’ll stay hot with another win and cover here.
