The Dallas Mavericks head to New Orleans on Tuesday for a Southwest Division matchup with the Pelicans.  The Mavericks enter Tuesday’s game after a win in their last game against the Los Angeles Lakers by the score of 114-100.  Last year’s Rookie of the Year award winner Luka Doncic led Dallas in points with 27 while shooting 10 of 23 from the field and 3 of 3 from the free throw line.  Doncic also led the Mavericks in assists on the night, recording 10 while playing 33 minutes in the game.  Doncic also led Dallas in rebounds on the night as he pulled in 9 boards, including 2 offensively.

The Mavericks are now 13-6 on the season which currently puts them in a 1st place tie in the Southwest Division.  Luka Doncic has been a force for the Mavericks all season and currently leads Dallas in points per game with 30.6, assists per game with 9.6, field goal percentage at 48.3 and rebounds per game with 9.9.  The Dallas Mavericks enter Tuesday’s game with just 1 player listed on their injury report as Isaiah Roby is listed as day to day.

On Tuesday, the New Orleans Pelicans welcome the Dallas Mavericks to town after losing their last game to the Oklahoma City Thunder by the score of 107-104.  Jrue Holiday led New Orleans in points, scoring 26 while going 10 of 19 from the fiend and 3 of 3 from the free throw line. Josh Hart led the Pelicans in rebounds, recording 11 on the night, including 1 offensively.  Lonzo Ball led New Orleans in assists with 7 on the night while playing a total of 33 minutes in the game.

The Pelicans come into Tuesday’s game with a record of 6-14 and are currently in 5th place in the Southwest Division.  On the year, the Pelicans are led in points per game by Brandon Ingram who has scored 25.5 points per game.  Ingram also leads the Pelicans in rebounds per game with 7.4.  Jrue Holiday leads the Pelicans in assists per game with 7.1.  New Orleans heads into Tuesday’s game with 3 players listed on their injury report as Kenrich Williams are day to day while Derrick Favors and Zion Williamson are out.

Dallas is averaging scoring 117.8 points per game while allowing 109.8 points per game.  New Orleans is scoring 114.5 points per game while allowing 118.9 points per game.  In their last 5, Dallas is 4-1 including winning their last 2 games while New Orleans is 0-5 during the same stretch.  Dallas won the first meeting of the season between these two teams earlier this year by the score of 123-116.  I am going to go with Dallas in this one due to the fact that New Orleans allows so many points per game and I don’t think they will be able to stop the Mavericks offense.  Dallas wins 125-117 and covers the spread.
