The Memphis Grizzlies and Oklahoma City Thunder meet Sunday in NBA action at the Chesapeake Energy Arena.
The Memphis Grizzlies could use a win after losing six of their last nine games. The Memphis Grizzlies are averaging 101 points on 44.8 percent shooting and allowing 104.1 points on 45 percent shooting. Mike Conley is averaging 20.2 points and 6.3 assists while Jonas Valanciunas is averaging 18.6 points and 9.6 rebounds. Avery Bradley is the third double-digit scorer and Jaren Jackson Jr. is grabbing 4.7 rebounds. The Memphis Grizzlies are shooting 33.4 percent from beyond the arc and 76.4 percent from the free throw line. The Memphis Grizzlies are allowing 36.1 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 40.8 rebounds per game. The Memphis Grizzlies have lost five of their last seven road games.
The Oklahoma City Thunder need a win here to snap a four-game losing streak. The Oklahoma City Thunder are averaging 115.7 points on 46 percent shooting and allowing 111.1 points on 45.9 percent shooting. Paul George is averaging 28.6 points and 8.1 rebounds while Russell Westbrook is averaging 22.5 points and 10.9 assists. Dennis Schroder is the third double-digit scorer and Steven Adams is grabbing 9.5 rebounds. The Oklahoma City Thunder are shooting 35 percent from beyond the arc and 71.8 percent from the free throw line. The Oklahoma City Thunder are allowing 35.1 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 48 rebounds per game. The Oklahoma City Thunder have won four of their last six home games.
The Grizzlies are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 vs. Western Conference, 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Thunder are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 Sunday games, 0-4 ATS in their last 4 vs. Western Conference and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Grizzlies are 1-8 ATS in the last 9 meetings in Oklahoma City and 2-6 ATS in the last 8 meetings. The under is 6-2 in Thunder last 8 overall. The over is 4-1-1 in Grizzlies last 6 overall.
The Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Memphis Grizzlies by 22 points less than a month ago, but they're clearly not the same team without Paul George, and there's a chance they could be without him again. The Memphis Grizzlies have also been competitive despite their struggles to win games, as they're outscoring teams by an average of 4.4 points in their last five games and have had some recent success at covering numbers. The Oklahoma City Thunder are just 4-5 ATS this season as a double-digit favorite, and I'm not laying these sort of numbers without PG13 on the court. So, I'll side with the Grizzlies and the points by default.
