The Oklahoma City Thunder play host to the Orlando Magic at the Chesapeake Energy Arena on Tuesday night.
The Orlando Magic have been in a bit of a rut as they’ve lost seven of their past 10 games but they will be gunning for a third straight victory after taking down the Nets in a 102-89 home win on Saturday. Nikola Vucevic led the team with 24 points, 12 rebounds and four assists, Evan Fournier added 16 points with four assists while Aaron Gordon chipped in with 15 points and five assists. As a team, the Magic shot 43 percent from the field and 10 of 27 from the 3-point line as they started slow against the Nets, before dominating the second half by 58-41 to make it look easy in the end. With the win, Orlando improved to 22-31 overall and 14-15 at home.
Meanwhile, the Oklahoma City Thunder have been in great form as they were riding a seven-game win streak before getting stopped by the Celtics in a 134-129 road loss on Sunday. Paul George led the team with 37 points on 11 of 27 shooting from the field, Russell Westbrook racked up a triple-double of 22 points with 12 rebounds and 16 assists while Steven Adams and Dennis Schroder chipped in with 16 points apiece. As a team, the Thunder shot 48 percent from the field and 14 of 35 from the 3-point line as they hung with the Celtics from start to finish, but their defense wasn’t up to scratch as they allowed the Celtics to shoot a sizzling 59 percent from the field. With the loss, Oklahoma City fell to 33-19 overall and 16-12 on the road.
Looking at the betting trends, the Magic are 6-1-1 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a winning record, 5-2 ATS in their last seven games following a win of more than 10 points and 5-2-1 ATS in their last eight games overall. The Thunder are 5-1 ATS in their last six against the Eastern Conference and 6-2 ATS in their last eight games overall.
Head to head, the road team is 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings, the Magic are 10-3 ATS in the last 13 meetings overall and 6-0 ATS in the last six meetings in Oklahoma City.
The Magic have found a bit of form with consecutive wins and they certainly looked good in their 13-point win over the Nets on Saturday, but the Thunder were one of the hottest teams in the league before they fell short against the Celtics on Sunday. The Magic are 6-0 ATS in the last six meetings in Oklahoma City but the Thunder have been on a tear lately with George and Westbrook putting up big numbers on a nightly basis and I think they get back in the groove with a double-digit home win here.
