The Line: Oklahoma City Thunder -8.5 -- Over/Under:
The Phoenix Suns and Oklahoma City Thunder meet Sunday in NBA action at the Chesapeake Energy Arena.
The Phoenix Suns could use a feel good victory here that would snap a four-game losing streak. The Phoenix Suns are averaging 107 points on 47.6 percent shooting and allowing 118.2 points on 49.3 percent shooting. Devin Booker is averaging 27.8 points and 6.8 assists while TJ Warren is averaging 17.5 points and 2.8 rebounds. Deandre Ayton is the third double-digit scorer and Trevor Ariza is dishing 3.5 assists. The Phoenix Suns are shooting 35.5 percent from beyond the arc and 74.4 percent from the free throw line. The Phoenix Suns are allowing 34.1 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 43.2 rebounds per game. The Phoenix Suns have lost all three road games this season.
The Oklahoma City Thunder look for their first victory of the season, as they haven’t started 0-5 since the 2007-08 season. The Oklahoma City Thunder are averaging 101.8 points on 39.1 percent shooting and allowing 112 points on 45.3 percent shooting. Paul George is averaging 24.5 points and six rebounds while Russell Westbrook is averaging 22.5 points and eight assists. Steven Adams is the third double-digit scorer and Dennis Schroder is dishing seven assists. The Oklahoma City Thunder are shooting 24.1 percent from beyond the arc and 64.3 percent from the free throw line. The Oklahoma City Thunder are allowing 36.8 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 51.2 rebounds per game. The Oklahoma City Thunder have lost five of their last six home games.
The Suns are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Sunday games, 2-5 ATS in their last 7 vs. Western Conference and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Thunder are 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 home games and 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 games playing on 2 days rest. The home team is 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings and the over is 19-9 in the last 28 meetings. The under is 5-1 in Thunder last 6 overall and the under is 6-2 in Suns last 8 road games.
The Oklahoma City Thunder aren't playing good basketball right now and are missing a ton of shots. However, all four of the Phoenix Suns losses this season have come by double digits, and they're not really an attractive team when Booker isn't on the court. If the Thunder are going to get on track and get their first win of the season, it's probably going to be here and will probably be rather easy. I don't love it, but OKC should win this game by double digits like most of the teams the Suns play.
