The Indiana Pacers and the Orlando Magic collide at the Amway Center in NBA action on Friday night.
The Indiana Pacers have been in a bit of a slump as they’ve lost four of their last seven games but they were able to snap a two-game skid with a 96-90 home win over the struggling Bulls on Tuesday. Darren Collison led the team with 23 points on six of seven shooting, Myles Turner added 18 points with 11 rebounds and five blocks while Bojan Bogdanovic chipped in with 14 points. As a team, the Pacers shot 46 percent from the field and just six of 22 from the 3-point line as they fell behind by nine points before taking over in the second half where they outscored the struggling Bulls by 53-45. With the much-needed win, Indiana improved to 14-10 overall and 7-4 at home.
Meanwhile, the Orlando Magic have lost five of their last eight games and they will be looking to bounce back after having their two-game win streak snapped by the Nuggets in a 124-118 overtime loss on Wednesday. Evan Fournier led the team with 26 points, eight rebounds and four assists, Nikola Vucevic added 24 points with 15 rebounds and four assists while Aaron Gordon chipped in with 19 points, six rebounds and five assists. As a team, the Magic shot 47 percent from the field and 20 of 49 from the 3-point line but they managed just six points in overtime to lose the game and fall back below .500 with a record of 12-13 overall and 6-7 at home.
Looking at the betting trends, the Pacers are 5-1 ATS in their last six games playing on two days rest, 2-5 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a losing record and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games overall. The Magic are 4-0 ATS in their last four against the Eastern Conference, 5-1 ATS in their last six home games and 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall.
Head to head, the road team is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings, the Pacers are 19-7 ATS in the last 26 meetings overall and 7-0 ATS in the last seven meetings in Orlando.
The Pacers have struggled without their leading scorer in Oladipo and their narrow win over the lowly Bulls was hardly convincing, but the Magic have fallen off the pace lately and they will be kicking themselves after falling in overtime to the Nuggets on Wednesday. The Pacers have dominated the Magic in the betting trends as they’re 7-0 ATS in the last seven meetings in Orlando, but without Victor Oladipo, I think the Magic get their revenge as they’re 5-1 ATS in their last six home games.
