The Philadelphia 76ers duke it out with the Orlando Magic at the Amway Center on Wednesday night.
The Philadelphia 76ers have won seven of their past 10 games and they will be looking to stay hot after taking down the Heat in a 124-114 road win on Monday. Joel Embiid led the team with 35 points, 18 rebounds and three assists, JJ Redick added 25 points while Ben Simmons chipped in with 13 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. As a team, the 76ers shot 47 percent from the field and 15 of 36 from the three-point line as they outpaced the Heat despite playing without their newly traded players Dario Saric and Robert Covington. Jimmy Butler has yet to suit up for his new team, but he was introduced to the team and is expected to debut on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the Orlando Magic have won four of their last six games but they will be aiming to bounce back after falling to the struggling Wizards in a 117-109 road loss on Monday. Terrence Ross led the team in scoring with 21 points off the bench, Evan Fournier added 20 points with five assists, Aaron Gordon scored 18 points while Nikola Vucevic chipped in with 17 points and 11 rebounds. As a team, the Magic shot 48 percent from the field and 15 of 30 from the three-point line but the Wizards outscored the Magic by 24-8 at the free throw line which was the difference in a tight fourth quarter.
Looking at the betting trends, the 76ers are 2-9 ATS in their last 11 road games, 11-5 ATS in their last 16 games against a team with a losing record and 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games following a win. The Magic are 1-6 ATS in their last seven home games, 2-8 ATS in their last 10 home games against a team with a losing road record and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games overall.
Head to head, the road team is 10-4 ATS in the last 14 meetings, the 76ers are 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings in Orlando and 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings overall.
The Magic have been in decent form lately but they’re coming into this one fresh off a loss to the Wizards who haven’t been beating anyone lately. The 76ers have been playing well lately and I only expect them to improve now that they have Butler in the lineup. There are sure to be some growing pains for the 76ers but I really like the addition of Butler and I think they will pull away late for the win and cover in this one.
