The Chicago Bulls and Phoenix Suns meet Monday in NBA action at the Talking Stick Resort Arena.
The Chicago Bulls could use a win after losing seven of their last eight games. The Chicago Bulls are averaging 105.2 points on 45.5 percent shooting and allowing 113 points on 47 percent shooting. Zach LaVine is averaging 23.9 points and 4.5 assists while Lauri Markkanen is averaging 18.9 points and 9.1 rebounds. Otto Porter Jr. is the third double-digit scorer and Kris Dunn is dishing six assists. The Chicago Bulls are shooting 35.6 percent from beyond the arc and 78.9 percent from the free throw line. The Chicago Bulls are allowing 36.5 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 42.5 rebounds per game. The Chicago Bulls have lost four straight road games.
The Phoenix Suns look for another win after winning six of their last 10 games. The Phoenix Suns are averaging 107.2 points on 45.7 percent shooting and allowing 116.1 points on 48.1 percent shooting. Devin Booker is averaging 25.5 points and 6.8 assists while TJ Warren is averaging 18 points and four rebounds. Kelly Oubre Jr. is the third double-digit scorer and Deandre Ayton is grabbing 10.3 rebounds. The Phoenix Suns are shooting 32.9 percent from beyond the arc and 78.1 percent from the free throw line. The Phoenix Suns are allowing 36.5 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 40.5 rebounds per game. The Phoenix Suns have split their last six home games.
The Bulls are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games playing on 0 days rest, 8-3 ATS in their last 11 road games and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Suns are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games playing on 1 days rest, 5-2 ATS in their last 7 home games and 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall. The Bulls are 7-2 ATS in the last 9 meetings in Phoenix and the home team is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings. The under is 6-2 in Suns last 8 overall. The over is 12-5-1 in Bulls last 18 overall.
The Chicago Bulls are on the end of a back to back and playing on the road where they lose by an average of seven points while getting blasted defensively. The Phoenix Suns have quietly won six of their last 10 games while covering seven of their last eight games. I'm not sure how much I like the Suns in a favorite role, especially when they're just 2-3 ATS when favored this season, but there's no denying they're playing improved basketball lately and are a much more attractive option than the Bulls. I don't love laying chalk with teams that have nothing to play for this time of year, but the rested Suns at home seems like the play over a struggling Bulls team on the road and on the end of a back to back.
