The Memphis Grizzlies and Portland Trail Blazers meet Wednesday in NBA action at the Moda Center.
The Memphis Grizzlies look for a win here after losing six of their last nine games. The Memphis Grizzlies are averaging 102.9 points on 44.9 percent shooting and allowing 105.6 points on 45 percent shooting. Mike Conley is averaging 21.1 points and 6.4 assists while Jonas Valanciunas is averaging 19.9 points and 10.7 rebounds. Avery Bradley is the third double-digit scorer and Jaren Jackson Jr. is grabbing 4.7 rebounds. The Memphis Grizzlies are allowing 36.2 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 41.5 rebounds per game. The Memphis Grizzlies have lost five of their last six road games.
The Portland Trail Blazers look to stay hot after winning 10 of their last 12 games. The Portland Trail Blazers are averaging 114.6 points on 46.6 percent shooting and allowing 110.5 points on 45.6 percent shooting. Damian Lillard is averaging 26.1 points and 6.8 assists while CJ McCollum is averaging 21.3 points and four rebounds. Enes Kanter is the third double-digit scorer and Al-Farouq Aminu is grabbing 7.5 rebounds. The Portland Trail Blazers are allowing 36 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 48 rebounds per game. The Portland Trail Blazers have won each of their last five home games.
The Grizzlies are 8-17 ATS in their last 25 road games, 11-5 ATS in their last 16 games playing on 2 days rest and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 vs. Western Conference. The Trail Blazers are 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 home games, 20-7 ATS in their last 27 games playing on 1 days rest and 7-1 ATS in their last 8 Wednesday games. The Grizzlies are 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings and the home team is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings. The over is 15-5-1 in Trail Blazers last 21 home games. The over is 7-2 in Grizzlies last 9 overall.
The Memphis Grizzlies have been that team in the second half that nobody talks about and isn't playing for anything but continues to compete and play hard. The Portland Trail Blazers are obviously the better team and are playing for playoff seeding, but they're also banged up and the lack of depth can take its toll. Also, the Grizzlies beat the Trail Blazers last month at full strength despite being 5.5-point underdogs. There's probably better options on a massive Wednesday card, but I'd take the points here if forced to pick.
