The Phoenix Suns and the Portland Trailblazers meet for the second game of a home and home set tonight.
The Trailblazers suffered their first loss of the season last night when they fell to the Suns by 110-92. Damian Lillard led the team in scoring with 24 points and six assists, but he shot just 7 of 20 from the field while committing seven turnovers. Al-Farouq Aminu and CJ McCollum chipped in with 16 points apiece while Mason Plumlee added 15 points but it was never enough against the Suns who just feasted on turnovers and easy fastbreak baskets in the second half.
As for the Suns, they were able to snatch their first win of the season thanks to a balanced scoring effort that saw six players finish in double figures. Eric Bledsoe led the team with 22 points, Brandon Knight added 18 points while TJ Warren had 17 points in just 22 minutes off the bench as the Suns outscored the Blazers in every quarter of the game.
In ATS trends, the Suns are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games playing on zero days rest and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 road games, while the Blazers are 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 games overall and 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 games against the Western Conference.
Head to head, the Blazers are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings overall but the underdog is 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings.
The Blazers are a much better team at home than they are on the road, but I really like what I saw from the Suns last night and I'm pretty confident they can repeat that effort.
