The Sacramento Kings play host to the Houston Rockets at the Golden 1 Center on Wednesday night.
The Houston Rockets have been building some nice momentum with five wins in their last seven games and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after sneaking past the Suns in a 118-110 road win on Monday. Chris Paul had a nice game of 18 points with four assists and five steals while Kenneth Faried finished with a double-double of 17 points with 14 rebounds but once again it was all about James Harden who continued his historic scoring streak with 44 points, eight rebounds and six assists. As a team, the Rockets shot 49 percent from the field and 13 of 41 from the 3-point line as they outpaced the Suns who hung around from start till finish. With the win, Houston improved to 31-22 overall and 12-14 on the road.
Meanwhile, the Sacramento Kings have been playing some great basketball lately as they’ve won four of their last five games and they will be aiming for a fourth straight victory after blowing past the Spurs in a 127-112 home win on Monday. Marvin Bagley III led the team with a career-high 24 points, 12 rebounds and four assists off the bench, De’Aaron Fox added 20 points with six assists while Yogi Ferrell and Buddy Hield scored 19 and 18 points respectively. As a team, the Kings shot a sizzling 55 percent from the field and 13 of 32 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 37 points in the first quarter before pulling away in the second half where they outscored the Spurs by 64-53 to make it a blowout. With the much-needed win, Sacramento improved to 28-25 overall and 17-10 at home.
Looking at the betting trends, the Rockets are 1-6 ATS in their last seven road games, 1-4 ATS in their last five against the Western Conference and 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games overall. The Kings are 20-8 ATS in their last 28 home games, 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games against a team with a winning record and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the home team is 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings, the Rockets are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings overall and 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings in Sacramento.
The Rockets have been in great form lately as they’ve won five of their last seven games thanks largely to James Harden who has been on a ridiculous scoring streak. The Kings have quietly been playing some of their best basketball of the season and they will be full of confidence after blowing out the Spurs on Monday. You could make an argument for either team here, but the Rockets are just 1-6 ATS in their last seven road games and I think that trend continues here as the young Kings stay hot with an upset win at home.
