The Brooklyn Nets invade the AT&T Center to battle the San Antonio Spurs tonight.
The Nets will be eager to register their first win of the season after getting routed by the Bulls by 115-100 on Wednesday. Brook Lopez had a big game of 26 points on 10 of 17 shooting while Andrea Bargnani added 17 points off the bench, but it was bad news everywhere else as the Nets shot just 41.9 percent from the field including 0 for 9 from the three-point line. In terms of injuries, Jarrett Jack sat out the game with a hamstring injury but is listed as probable for tonight.
Meanwhile, the Spurs draw a tough matchup in their season opener and fell short, losing to the Thunder by 112-106 on the road. Kawhi Leonard had a monster game of 32 points on 13 of 22 shooting but had little support, especially in the fourth quarter where the Spurs were outscored 33-23. The newly acquired LaMarcus Alrdridge scored just 11 points, David West had eight points while Tony Parker added 10 points to round out the scoring.
In ATS trends, the Nets are 7-3-1 ATS in their last 11 games following a loss and 9-4-1 ATS in their last 14 against the Western Conference, while the Spurs are 5-0 ATS in their last five against the Eastern Conference and 9-3 ATS in their last 12 home games.
Head to head, the Nets are 7-19-1 ATS in the last 27 meetings overall and the favorite is 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings.
I know this is a lot of points to be giving up so early in the season, but the Nets looked completely hapless in their last outing and won't have a chance against this Spurs outfit coming off a loss.
