The Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs meet Thursday in NBA action at the AT&T Center.
The Oklahoma City Thunder look for a spark of consistency after splitting their last 10 games. Paul George is averaging 26.8 points and eight rebounds while Russell Westbrook is averaging 21.2 points and 10.3 assists. The Oklahoma City Thunder are allowing 33.3 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 48.5 rebounds per game. The Oklahoma City Thunder have won five of their last seven road games.
The San Antonio Spurs look for another victory after winning six of their last eight games. The San Antonio Spurs are averaging 111.9 points on 48 percent shooting and allowing 108.6 points on 46.2 percent shooting. DeMar DeRozan is averaging 22.6 points and 6.4 assists while LaMarcus Aldridge is averaging 20 points and 8.6 rebounds. The Thunder are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 vs. NBA Southwest and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 road games. The Spurs are 35-17 ATS in their last 52 home games, 9-1-1 ATS in their last 11 vs. Western Conference and 15-5-1 ATS in their last 21 games overall. The Thunder are 1-4 ATS in the last 5 meetings and the favorite is 26-12-1 ATS in the last 39 meetings. The under is 5-2 in Thunder last 7 overall. The over is 4-1 in Spurs last 5 overall.
The San Antonio Spurs have been lights out at home as of late and will be eager to bounce back from a rough loss last night to the Memphis Grizzlies. It's tough for me to fade the Spurs after backing them so heavily at home these last several weeks. However, the Oklahoma City Thunder are rested and are simply the better team overall. OKC has really tightened up defensively lately, allowing just 42.5 percent shooting in its last five games and having to slow down Westbrook and PG13 isn't something you want to do on tired legs. There's a lot of trends leaning in the direction of the Spurs, but I'm siding with the Thunder, the better team, in this toss-up.
