The Orlando Magic and Toronto Raptors meet Tuesday in game two of the NBA playoffs at the Scotiabank Arena.
The Orlando Magic have a chance to position themselves nicely with another road win and a 2-0 series lead. The Orlando Magic are averaging 104 points on 45.4 percent shooting and allowing 101 points on 45.5 percent shooting. D.J. Augustin is averaging 25 points and six assists while Evan Fournier is averaging 16 points and two rebounds. Aaron Gordon is the third double-digit scorer and Jonathan Isaac is grabbing eight rebounds. The Orlando Magic are shooting 48.3 percent from beyond the arc and 90 percent from the free throw line. The Orlando Magic are allowing 33.3 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 48 rebounds per game. The Orlando Magic have won six of their last 10 road games.
The Toronto Raptors ned a victory here to tie up the series before heading to Florida for game three. The Toronto Raptors are averaging 101 points on 45.5 percent shooting and allowing 104 points on 40 percent shooting. Kawhi Leonard is averaging 25 points and six rebounds while Pascal Siakam is averaging 24 points and nine rebounds. Marc Gasol is the third double-digit scorer and Kyle Lowry is dishing eight assists. The Toronto Raptors are shooting 33.3 percent from beyond the arc and 64.3 percent from the free throw line. The Toronto Raptors are allowing 48.3 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 45 rebounds per game. The Toronto Raptors have won five of their last eight home games.
The Magic are 4-8 ATS in their last 12 Conference Quarterfinals games, 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games playing on 2 days rest and 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Raptors are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 Tuesday games, 7-3 ATS in their last 10 Conference Quarterfinals games and 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games overall. The Magic are 5-1-1 ATS in the last 7 meetings and the home team is 4-2-1 ATS in the last 7 meetings. The over is 4-1-1 in Raptors last 6 home games. The over is 7-0 in Magic last 7 overall.
The Toronto Raptors should get the win this time, but the Orlando Magic aren't going away. A confident bunch that doesn't give up, defends well and can make big shots, the Magic have been one of the best teams in the league since the all-star break. What's scary about game one is that the Raptors shot 5.5 percent better from the field and still lost. The Magic are capable of playing better basketball and are certainly going to get a better shooting performance from their all-star center Nikola Vucevic. Also, the Rptors are now just 11-18 ATS this season when favored by nine or more points. I expect a different result this time in terms of who wins, but the value to me is still with the Magic and the free buckets.
