The Line: Utah Jazz +1.5 -- Over/Under: 212.5
The Houston Rockets and Utah Jazz meet Monday in game four of the NBA Western Conference playoffs at the Vivint Smart Home Arena.
The Houston Rockets look to complete the sweep and earn a couple of days of extra rest before the next round. The Houston Rockets are averaging 114.7 points on 45.6 percent shooting and allowing 96.3 points on 40.1 percent shooting. James Harden is averaging 27.7 points and 10 assists while Chris Paul is averaging 16.3 points and 4.7 assists. Eric Gordon is the third double-digit scorer and PJ Tucker is grabbing six rebounds. The Houston Rockets are shooting 36.7 percent from beyond the arc and 77.6 percent from the free throw line. The Houston Rockets are allowing 25.5 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 46.7 rebounds per game. The Houston Rockets have won 10 of their last 13 road games.
The Utah Jazz hope to prevent a sweep and force a game five on Wednesday. The Utah Jazz are averaging 96.3 points on 40.1 percent shooting and allowing 114.7 points on 45.6 percent shooting. Donovan Mitchell is averaging 21.3 points and 3.7 assists while Rudy Gobert is averaging 14.3 points and 10.7 rebounds. Ricky Rubio is the third double-digit scorer and Derrick Favors is grabbing 7.3 rebounds. The Utah Jazz are shooting 25.5 percent from beyond the arc and 72.3 percent from the free throw line. The Utah Jazz are allowing 36.7 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 45.7 rebounds per game. The Utah Jazz have won eight of their last nine home games.
The Rockets are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games playing on 1 days rest, 5-0 ATS in their last 5 Conference Quarterfinals games and 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 games overall. The Jazz are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games playing on 1 days rest, 7-18-1 ATS in their last 26 Monday games and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 Conference Quarterfinals games. The Rockets are 6-1 ATS in the last 7 meetings in Utah and 4-0-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings. The under is 8-3 in Jazz last 11 home games. The under is 16-6-1 in Rockets last 23 overall.
It's hard to make a case for the Utah Jazz in this contest given how this series has played out. The Rockets beat the hell out of the Jazz in the first two games and still managed to win game three despite shooting 38.4 percent from the field as a team and getting a historically bad shooting night from Harden. If the Jazz couldn't find a way to put away game three, they're probably not going to win a game this series, as I highly doubt Harden has another off night like that again. The Utah Jazz just can't find enough offense to give themselves a shot. The Rockets are also 10-1 ATS in their last 11 games as a favorite, and they have every reason to complete the sweep, gaining a rest advantage over the Golden State Warriors. I'll lay the bucket with the Rockets.
