The Utah Jazz play host to the New York Knicks at the Vivint Smart Home Arena on Saturday night.
The New York Knicks have been in a world of hurt as they’ve lost 11 of their last 12 games and they will be hoping to snap a six-game skid after falling to the Bucks in a 112-96 road loss on Thursday. Luke Kornet led the way with 23 points and five assists, Noah Vonleh added 15 points and 13 rebounds while Emmanuel Mudiay chipped in with 13 points and six assists. As a team, the Knicks shot just 37 percent from the field as they struggled against the defense of the Bucks, especially in the second half where they were outscored by 59-48. With the loss, New York dropped to 9-27 on the season and 5-15 on the road.
Meanwhile, the Utah Jazz are searching for a bit of consistency as they’ve lost five of their last eight games and they will be looking to bounce back after falling to the 76ers in a 114-97 home loss on Thursday. Donovan Mitchell led the team with 23 pointss, Dante Exum provided the spark off the bench with 20 points while Rudy Gobert racked up 17 points with 15 rebounds and five assists. As a team, the Jazz shot just 38 percent from the field and 11 of 35 from the 3-point line as they seemed to be in control of the game until the third quarter where the 76ers went on a decisive 28-4 run. With the loss, Utah dropped to 17-19 overall and 7-8 at home.
Looking at the betting trends, the Knicks are 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games, 0-6 ATS in their last six games following a loss of more than 10 points and 0-5 ATS in their last five games overall. The Jazz are 3-0-1 ATS in their last four games following a loss, 5-2 ATS in their last seven home games and 4-9 ATS in their last 13 home games against a team with a losing road record.
Head to head, the over is 5-0 in the last five meetings, the Knicks are 23-3 ATS in the last 26 meetings overall and 14-2 ATS in the last 16 meetings in Utah.
The Jazz haven’t been at their best lately and they will certainly be disappointed with their poor showing against the 76ers on Thursday, but I can’t see them stumbling against these Knicks who haven’t been able to buy a win these days. The only problem is that the line seems quiet hefty and the Knicks are 14-2 ATS in the last 1 meetings in Utah, so I’m leaning towards the Knicks with the points.
