The Utah Jazz play host to the Orlando Magic at the Vivint Smart Home Arena on Wednesday night.
The Orlando Magic have been in a bit of a rut as they’ve lost eight of their last 11 games and they will be hoping to avoid a fourth straight defeat after falling to the Kings in a 111-95 road loss on Monday. Terrence Ross led the team in scoring with 20 points off the bench, Nikola Vucevic added 18 points with 13 rebounds and three assists while Evan Fournier chipped in with 15 points. As a team, the Magic shot a miserly 36 percent from the field and they never looked threatening after falling behind by 16 points going into halftime, falling behind by as many as 28 points before pulling it back in garbage time. With the loss, Orlando fell to 17-23 overall and 7-12 on the road.
Meanwhile, the Utah Jazz have been in decent form with six wins in their last 10 games but they will be hoping to bounce back after falling short against the league-leading Bucks in a 114-102 road loss on Monday. Donovan Mitchell led the team with 26 points on eight of 24 shooting, Rudy Gobert added 14 points with 15 rebounds and three assists while Derrick Favors and Jae Crowder each scored 12 points. As a team, the Jazz shot just 41 percent from the field as they struggled against the Bucks’ defense, but they were right in the contest until the fourth quarter where the Bucks outscored them by 31-16 to run away with the game. With the loss, Utah dropped to 20-21 overall and 12-13 on the road.
Looking at the betting trends, the Magic are 1-6 ATS in their last seven road games, 2-5 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a losing record and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. The Jazz are 6-2 ATS in their last eight home games, 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record and 5-0-1 ATS in their last six games following a loss.
Head to head, the road team is 10-3 ATS in the last 13 meetings, the underdog is 19-6-1 ATS in the last 26 meetings and the Magic are 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings in Utah.
The Magic have been in a real slump and they were ran off the court against the Kings in their loss on Monday so they will be eager to bounce back but they’re going up against an improving Jazz team who are 6-2 ATS in their last eight home games. The Magic just can’t find consistent offense from anyone other than Vucevic but with Gobert matched up against him in this game, I think the Jazz have the advantage. With that being said, I’m going with the Jazz to build some momentum with an easy home win over the struggling Magic.
