The Portland Trailblazers and the Utah Jazz duke it out at the Vivint Smart Home Arena on Monday night.
The Portland Trailblazers have been in great shape as they’ve won eight of their last 11 games and they will be gunning for a third straight victory after blowing past the Pelicans in a 128-112 home win on Friday. Damian Lillard led the team with 24 points and eight assists, CJ McCollum and Jake Layman each scored 20 points while Jusuf Nurkic chipped in with 15 points, 12 rebounds and five assists. As a team, the Trailblazers shot 46 percent from the field and 11 of 34 from the 3-point line as they set the tone early before outscoring the Pelicans by 42-29 in the second quarter to take control of the game. With the win, Portland improved to 28-19 overall and 20-7 at home.
Meanwhile, the Utah Jazz have really enjoyed a favourable stretch in their schedule as they’ve won eight of their last nine games and they will be aiming for a seventh straight victory after taking down the Cavaliers in a 115-99 home win on Friday. Donovan Mitchell led the way with 24 points on nine of 15 shooting, Rudy Gobert added 19 points with 15 rebounds and five assists while Royce O’Neal chipped in with 16 points, 11 rebounds and five assists. As a team, the Jazz shot 51 percent from the field and 13 of 37 from the 3-point line as they dominated the Cavaliers to lead by as many as 38 points before they rested their starters in the fourth quarter. With the easy win, Utah improved to 26-21 overall and 13-8 at home.
Looking at the betting trends, the Trailblazers are 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record, 4-9 ATS in their last 13 road games and 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall. The Jazz are 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven against the Western Conference, 2-6-1 ATS in their last nine games following a win of more than 10 points and 0-5-1 ATS in their last six Monday games.
Head to head, the under is 4-0 in the last four meetings, the home team is 10-3 ATS in the last 13 meetings and the Trailblazers are 1-5 ATS in the last six meetings in Utah.
The Trailblazers have been in solid form lately with eight wins in their last 11 games but the Jazz have been on fire with eight wins in their last nine games. The Jazz are also 10-3 ATS in the last 13 meetings overall and they’ve already beaten the Trailblazers twice this season by a combined 51 points. With that being said, I’m going with the surging Jazz to stay hot with another win and cover as they cruise at home.
