The Line: Washington Wizards -6.5 -- Over/Under: 206
The Boston Celtics and Washington Wizards meet Tuesday in NBA action at the Capital One Arena.
The Boston Celtics look for a bounce back victory after losing three of their last four games. The Boston Celtics are averaging 104 points on 45.1 percent shooting and allowing 100.3 points on 43.9 percent shooting. Jaylen Brown is averaging 14.3 points and five rebounds while Jayson Tatum is averaging 13.9 points and 5.1 rebounds. Marcus Morris is the third double-digit scorer and Al Horford is grabbing 7.3 rebounds. The Boston Celtics are shooting 37.8 percent from beyond the arc and 77 percent from the free throw line. The Boston Celtics are allowing 33.8 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 44.2 rebounds per game. The Boston Celtics have won seven of their last 10 road games.
The Washington Wizards also need a victory here in order to snap a four-game losing streak. The Washington Wizards are averaging 106.7 points on 46.8 percent shooting and allowing 106.2 points on 46.3 percent shooting. Bradley Beal is averaging 22.8 points and 4.4 rebounds while John Wall is averaging 19.2 points and 9.5 assists. Otto Porter Jr. is the third double-digit scorer and Kelly Oubre Jr. is grabbing 4.5 rebounds. The Washington Wizards are shooting 37.4 percent from beyond the arc and 77.4 percent from the free throw line. The Washington Wizards are allowing 34.8 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 42.9 rebounds per game. The Washington Wizards have split their last six home games.
The Celtics are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 Tuesday games, 36-15 ATS in their last 51 road games and 13-5 ATS in their last 18 games overall. The Wizards are 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 vs. Eastern Conference, 2-5 ATS in their last 7 vs. NBA Atlantic and 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games overall. The Celtics are 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings, the home team is 11-3 ATS in the last 14 meetings and the favorite is 14-5 ATS in the last 19 meetings.
I really don't want to lay chalk with the Washington Wizards, who are slumping at the wrong time and losing games they shouldn't lose. However, the Celtics have nothing to really play for with them locked into the second seed, and the Wizards have a chance to get either the seventh or sixth seed. This is kind of a must-win game for the Wizards, as they don't want to play the Raptors in the first round of the playoffs. I'm assuming this line is steep due to the Celtics resting some guys, and if that's the case, give me the Wizards in a comfortable victory.
