The Charlotte Hornets and Washington Wizards meet Saturday in NBA action at the Capital One Arena.
The Charlotte Hornets look for a spark of consistency after splitting their last eight games. Kemba Walker is averaging 25.2 points and 6.2 assists while Jeremy Lamb is averaging 15.4 points and 5.7 rebounds. Malik Monk is the third double-digit scorer and Tony Parker is dishing 4.1 assists. The Charlotte Hornets are allowing 34.8 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 44.1 rebounds per game. The Charlotte Hornets have lost six of their last seven road games.
The Washington Wizards could use a victory after losing five of their last six games. The Washington Wizards are averaging 112.7 points on 46.5 percent shooting and allowing 117.7 points on 47.3 percent shooting. Bradley Beal is averaging 23.5 points and 4.8 rebounds while John Wall is averaging 20.7 points and 8.7 assists. The Hornets are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games, 5-2 ATS in their last 7 vs. NBA Southeast and 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Wizards are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 home games, 4-11 ATS in their last 15 games playing on 0 days rest and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Hornets are 1-5 ATS in the last 6 meetings in Washington and the favorite is 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings. The over is 7-3 in Hornets last 10 overall. The over is 7-1 in Wizards last 8 home games.
I'm honestly not trying to back either one of these teams, but the Charlotte Hornets aren't good on the road to put it nicely and I doubt that changes on the end of a back to back. The Washington Wizards are back to falling apart and a loss yesterday to the Chicago Bulls won't help matters, but they do play their best ball at home and the home team has won eight of the last 10 meetings between the Hornets and Wizards. In a toss-up contest between two unpredictable teams, I'll give the slight edge to the home team and the small chalk.
