Sean Mannion

School: Oregon State Beavers

Height: 6’6”

Weight: 229

Position: Quarterback

Career Stats: 1,838 passing attempts, 13,600 passing yards, 83 touchdowns and 54 interceptions.

Strengths: Sean Mannion has a great frame to play at the next level, as his above average height allows him to see over the offensive and defensive line. Mannion may have the best touch, especially on his deep ball of any quarterback in this class. Mannion does a nice job of leading the receiver and has solid accuracy despite his 62.3 percent completion percentage his senior season. Mannion played in a pro-style offense and was a four-year starter, breaking many school records. Sean Mannion also has no off-the-field issues to worry about.

Weaknesses: Sean Mannion isn’t the athletic quarterback NFL teams like nowadays, as his mobility is extremely limited and doesn’t do a great job of buying himself more time in the pocket. Mannion could also do a better job of handling pressure. Mannion was a turnover machine at Oregon State, throwing 54 interceptions and fumbling the ball 30 times.

Projection: Sean Mannion’s turnover issues and lack of handling pressure well are the main issues NFL teams are going to have. Still, Mannion has the build and the touch to make an NFL roster and improve his game under a current starter. Mannion provides value in the later rounds and could carve out a solid career as a backup who can manage an offense when needed.
