The Line: Atlanta Falcons -3 -- Over/Under: 50.5
The Dallas Cowboys and Atlanta Falcons meet Sunday in NFL action at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
The Dallas Cowboys look for a fourth straight victory to make a statement to the rest of the NFC while keeping pace in the NFC East. The Dallas Cowboys have won nine of their last 12 road games. Dak Prescott is completing 62.9 percent of his passes for 1,818 yards, 16 touchdowns and four interceptions. Prescott has two or more touchdown passes in six of his last seven games. Dez Byrant and Terrance Williams have combined for 796 receiving yards and four touchdowns while Jason Witten has 35 receptions. The Dallas Cowboys ground game is averaging 148.1 yards per contest, and Ezekiel Elliott leads the way with 783 yards and seven touchdowns. Defensively, Dallas is allowing 22.3 points and 324.6 yards per game. Sean Lee leads the Dallas Cowboys with 51 tackles, DeMarcus Lawrence has 10.5 sacks and Byron Jones has one interception.
The Atlanta Falcons need a win here after losing four of their last five games to get a game above a .500 record. The Atlanta Falcons have won five of their last eight home games. Matt Ryan is completing 65.6 percent of his passes for 2,157 yards, 11 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Ryan has two or less touchdown passes in 10 of his last 11 games. Julio Jones and Austin Hooper have combined for 989 receiving yards and three touchdowns while Mohamed Sanu has 31 receptions. The Atlanta Falcons ground game is averaging 114.5 yards per contest, and Devonta Freeman leads the way with 512 yards and five touchdowns. Defensively, Atlanta is allowing 21.5 points and 321.8 yards per game. Deion Jones leads the Atlanta Falcons with 71 tackles, Vic Beasley Jr. has four sacks and Desmond Trufant has one interception.
The Cowboys are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games in November, 22-8 ATS in their last 30 games on grass and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games in Week 10. The Falcons are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 vs. NFC, 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games in November and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The favorite is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 meetings and the over is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings. The over is 19-7-1 in Falcons last 27 games overall and the over is 4-1 in Cowboys last 5 games overall.
The Dallas Cowboys are starting to show signs of being the team they were last year, as the offensive line has picked up, Elliott is running angry and the defense is getting stops now that Lee is healthy. The Cowboys have allowed 19 or less points in five of their first eight games. On the otherside, the Falcons have lost four of their last five and it starts with an offense that has scored 17 or less points in four of those games. I guess Kyle Shanahan meant that much to this team, as this is the same group of players that lit every defense on fire last year, and now they struggle to do anything with consistency. If that wasn't bad enough, Julio Jones is dealing with a leg injury and Devonta Freeman has a banged up shoulder. I'm not sure how anyone can take the Falcons with confidence in a game like this, home or not. I'll gladly take the free field goal with the better team in greater form.
