Buffalo Bills PK / Indianapolis Colts PK O/U: 34.5
The Indianapolis Colts and the Buffalo Bills will match up on the NFL scene in Preseason Week 1 on Thursday.
In 2018, the Colts’ 35 season in Indianapolis resulted in a 10-6 record in the regular season and a second-place position in the AFC South. That was good enough for a Wild Card berth, which the Colts won 21-7 versus the Texans. Indy lost in the Divisional Playoff versus the Chiefs, however.
Colts QB Andrew Luck will once again take the reins here, and he’s got some weapons in the form of TY Hilton and Devin Funchess. Eric Ebron adds another layer of depth to the offensive attack as well.
In the 2018 campaign, the Bills followed up the previous year’s playoff run with another subpar season, finishing 6-10 and third place in the AFC East division.
This will be the third year under the head coach/GM combination of Sean McDermott and Brandon Beane. Arrivals like Frank Gore and Cole Beasley will add to QB Josh Allen’s arsenal.
The Colts are 12-4-1 ATS in their last 17 Thursday games and the under is 6-1 in their last seven versus the AFC. The under is also 4-1 in the Colts’ last five road games and 7-2 in their last nine overall.
Meanwhile, the Bills are 1-4 ATS in their last five Thursday games and the over is 21-8 in the last 29 home games. Head-to-head, the home team is 5-0 ATS in their last five meetings and the under is 4-0 in their last four.
The first week of preseason football is geared more toward setting up game speed and checking out some of those on the roster bubble. Indianapolis seems to be coming into the season solid and ought to do well in the division this season.
Still, an exciting Week 1 preseason game at Ralph Wilson and a slew of intriguing additions make me think the Bills will take this one.
