The Indianapolis Colts and the Jacksonville Jaguars face off on Sunday in Indianapolis in a Week 12 NFL AFC South matchup.
The Indianapolis Colts are in first place in the AFC South but are coming off of a brutal home loss at the hands of the New England Patriots. The Colts offense is averaging 31 points per game which is third best in the NFL and 438.3 yards per game which is tops in the NFL. QB Andrew Luck is putting up Pro Bowl numbers completing 63.2 percent of his passes with 28 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Ahmad Bradshaw is the Colts leading rusher with 425 yards and T.Y Hilton is the leading receiver with 59 catches and Reggie Wayne has 47. He Indianapolis defense is allowing 25.3 points and 375.6 yards per game and hey are plus one in turnover ratio. D’Qwell Jackson has 81 tackles, Mike Adams has 55 tackles and four interceptions, and Jerrell Freeman has 52 tackles. The Colts have played one of the roughest schedules in the NFL.
The Jacksonville Jaguars are an improved team over last season but it is tough to see it sometimes as they are just 1-9 for the season. The Jaguars offense is averaging a 31st in the NFL ranked 15.8 points per game and a 27th ranked 315.1 yards per game. QB Blake Bortles has completed 63.3 percent of his passes but along with his eight touchdowns he has 14 interceptions. Denard Robinson leads the Jaguars in rushing with 483 yards and four touchdowns and Allen Robinson is Jacksonville’s leading receiver with 48 receptions. The Jaguars defense spends a lot of time on the field and they are ranked 31st in points allowed at 28.2 points and 29th in yards allowed at 388.1 per game. Johnathan Cyprien has 67 tackles, Josh Evans has 54 tackles, and Ryan Davis has 4.5 sacks. The Jaguars still have plenty of building in front of them.
Indianapolis is 15-3 against the spread against the AFC South, 14-2 against the spread following a game that they didn’t cover the point spread, and 16-5 against the spread against a team with a losing record. Jacksonville is 2-6-2 against the spread against the AFC, 2-7-2 against the spread following a loss, and 1-4-1 against the spread in their last six road games. The favorite has covered the point spread in the last four meetings of these two.
The total looks to be on the high side but I can see this one going over as it is one of the games where weather isn't going to matter this weekend.
