The Miami Dolphins and Dallas Cowboys play a Friday night preseason game at AT&T Stadium.
The Miami Dolphins look for more positive vibes after beating the New York Giants 27-10 in their preseason opener In the victory, Matt Moore led the way with 122 passing yards and one touchdown. Starter Ryan Tannehill completed 50 percent of his four pass attempts. Jakeem Grant and Matt Hazel combined for 119 receiving yards and one touchdown while Dominique Jones had two receptions. The Miami Dolphins ground game averaged 3.3 yards per carry and Isaiah Pead led the charge with 50 yards on 10 carries. Defensively, Mike Hull led the Dolphins with seven tackles, Julius Warmsley had two sacks and Bobby McCain had two pass deflections.
The Dallas Cowboys look to rebound after losing to the Los Angeles Rams in their preseason opener, 28-24. In the losing effort, Dak Prescott led the way with 139 passing yards and two touchdowns. Tony Romo is likely going to see playing time here after sitting out in the loss. Vince Mayle and Terrance Williams combined for 79 receiving yards and one touchdown while Dez Bryant had two receptions. The Dallas Cowboys ground game averaged five yards per carry and Darius Jackson led the charge with 47 yards on 12 carries. Defensively, Jeremiah McKinnon led the Cowboys with six tackles, Shaneil Jenkins had one sack and Mark Nzeocha had one pass deflection.
The Dolphins are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games on fieldturf and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games. The Cowboys are 7-19-1 ATS in their last 27 games on fieldturf and 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 games overall. The road team is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 meetings.
The Dolphins backups are the reason they won that game against the Giants, so that should count for something. However, the Cowboys are likely going to give Romo reps in this game and I'm not sure a backup quarterback played better last week than Prescott. At home, I'm leaning with the Cowboys and small line.
