NFL | New England Patriots (11-2) at Denver Broncos (8-5)
USA TODAY Sports

We’ve got a great looking Week 15 NFL showdown in the AFC on Sunday, December 18 from Sports Authority Field as the New England Patriots take on the Denver Broncos.

The Patriots ride into this one on a four-game winning streak and are 11-2 on the season. New England’s latest victory came against Baltimore on “Monday Night Football” in a 30-23 result. In that game, Patriots QB Tom Brady tossed for 406 yards and three touchdowns.

On the season, Brady has 2876 yards with 22 touchdowns and two picks, while LeGarrette Blount leads the Patriots running game on 1029 yards and 14 scores. Julian Edelman is tops in the New England receiving corps with 791 yards and two scores on 79 receptions.

As for the Broncos, they’re entering play here with an 8-5 record on the season. Denver has lost three of their last five, including a 13-10 defeat by the Titans on Sunday. In that one, Broncos QB Trevor Siemian threw for 334 yards and one touchdown.

So far this year, Siemian has put up 2730 yards with 16 touchdowns and seven picks, and Devontae Booker leads the Broncos on the ground with 149 attempts for 511 yards and three touchdowns. Emmanuel Sanders is Denver’s top receiver with 75 receptions for 958 yards and five scores.

The Patriots are 5-1 ATS in their last six road games, and 5-1 ATS in their last six against the AFC. New England is also 4-1 ATS versus a team with a winning record, and 4-1 ATS in their last five games in December.

Meanwhile, the Broncos are 4-1 ATS in their last five games following a straight-up loss, and 6-2-1 ATS in their last nine home games. Denver is also 18-7-1 ATS in their last 26 games following an ATS loss, and 13-6 ATS in their last 19 games in December.

The Patriots haven’t necessarily been blowing teams away this year, but as usual they’ve been finding ways to churn out wins no matter who’s on the field. I think that will hold true here, as New England shouldn’t have too much trouble matching up with a limp Denver offense. I’ll take the Patriots to cover.

Pick:
New England Patriots -3
