The Tennessee Titans will head west to Mile High Stadium and face the Denver Broncos on Sunday.
The Broncos returned to Denver a mile high in more than one way last week after their first win of the season, a 20-13 win over the Chargers. Everything went right for Denver, with Phillip Lindsay becoming the Broncos’ first 100-yard rusher of the year and the defense finally showing up, forcing three turnovers -- two inside Denver’s 5-yard line -- and holding Los Angeles without an offensive touchdown. It doesn’t take much to realize that this game could have, and maybe should have, had a different result. But that’s why the games are played, right?
In contrast, Tennessee has lost three of four and heads into this game against a resurgent Denver defense with an offense that has just scored a combined 34 points in the last three weeks combined. Marcus Mariota, Derrick Henry, and the rest of the Titans’ offense have looked more like the Titanic boat than actually being titanic, checking in at just 23rd in the NFL in scoring offense and 28th in passing offense.
So these are two offenses ranked in the bottom 10 of the NFL taking on two defenses in the top 10. In addition, the total has gone under in four of Tennessee’s last five games, and it has been under in 12 of Denver’s last 14 games. That total is crazy low at 40.5, but I don’t think anyone would be surprised with a 17-14 games here. Or a 10-7 final for that matter. Take the under.
