|Date & Time||Sunday October 25, 2015, 1:00 PM (EDT)|
The Line: Miami Dolphins -4.5 -- Over/Under: 43
The Houston Texans and Miami Dolphins square off Sunday afternoon at Sun Life Stadium.
The Houston Texans look for back-to-back victories that would give them their second road win. Brian Hoyer is completing 63.4 percent of his passes for 1,073 yards, eight touchdowns and two interceptions. Hoyer has seven touchdown passes in his last three games. DeAndre Hopkins and Cecil Shorts III have combined for 1,025 receiving yards and six touchdowns while Arian Foster has 17 receptions. The Houston Texans ground game is averaging 96 yards per contest, and Alfred Blue leads the way with 226 yards and one touchdown. Defensively, Houston is allowing 25.8 points and 348.8 yards per game. Brian Cushing leads the Texans with 52 tackles, J.J. Watt has four sacks and Johnathan Joseph has eight pass deflections. Benardrick McKinney, Jadeveon Clowney and Nate Washington are questionable.
The Miami Dolphins look for their first home victory that would put them at a .500 record. Ryan Tannehill is completing 59.5 percent of his passes for 1,346 yards, nine touchdowns and seven interceptions. Tannehill has two touchdown passes in each of his last four games. Rishard Matthews and Jarvis Landry have combined for 675 receiving yards and three touchdowns while Jordan Cameron has 15 receptions. The Miami Dolphins ground game is averaging 91.4 yards per contest, and Lamar Miller leads the way with 244 yards and one touchdown. Defensively, Miami is allowing 22.2 points and 379.4 yards per game. Reshad Jones leads the Dolphins with 51 tackles, Cameron Wake has four sacks and Brent Grimes has two interceptions. A.J. Francis is questionable with a back injury.
The Texans are 4-1 ATS vs. a team with a losing record and 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a S.U. win. The Dolphins are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games on grass and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 home games. The Texans are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 meetings.
The Dolphins proved last week that a coaching change can make a world of difference. Miami looked like a completely different team in its last game. The Texans just aren't a good football team, as their only victories have come against bottom feeders in Jacksonville and Tampa Bay. The Dolphins have the talent and now have a coach who can get that talent out.
I look for the Miami Dolphins to beat the Houston Texans for the first time in franchise history.
