The Tennessee Titans have lost four straight but are coming off a competitive matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Rookie Zach Mettenberger is completing 61.9 percent of his passes for five touchdowns and four interceptions. Mettenberger is slowly gaining confidence each week and has thrown two touchdowns in two of his last three games. Delanie Walker and Kendall Wright have combined for close to 1,000 receiving yards and eight touchdowns, while Nate Washington is coming off his first touchdown of the season. The Titans ground game is averaging 4.2 yards per carry, as Bishop Sankey leads the way with 395 rushing yards and two touchdowns. For the first time since week 5, the Titans scored 20 or more points in Monday’s loss. Defensively, the Tennessee Titans are allowing 25 points, 370.4 yards, and they’ve forced 12 turnovers and 29 sacks. Michael Griffin leads the Titans with 70 tackles and Jurrell Casey has four sacks.
The Philadelphia Eagles have split their last four games and are coming off a brutal loss to Green Bay. The Eagles are still an offensive team now led by Mark Sanchez, who is completing 59.2 percent of his passes for six touchdowns and four interceptions. Sanchez has thrown two picks in two of his first three games with Philly and he’s been sacked six times. Jeremy Maclin and Jordan Matthews have combined for more than 1,400 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns, while Zach Ertz has five of his 30 catches in his last two games. The Eagles ground game is averaging four yards per carry, and while LeSean McCoy leads the way with 729 rushing yards, he’s scored just one touchdown in his last eight games. Defensively, the Philadelphia Eagles are allowing 25.1 points, 377.7 yards, and they’ve forced 16 turnovers and 33 sacks. Malcolm Jenkins leads the Eagles with 45 tackles and Connor Barwin has 10.5 sacks.
The Titans are 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 road games and 3-10-2 ATS in their last 15 games overall. The Eagles are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games in Week 12.
I don't like playing big chalk period, but especially this time of the year where the weather impacts games and can keep them a lot closer than they should be. Instead, I'm taking the over in this game. I expect the Eagles offense to come of firing after being shutdown last week, and if the same Philly defense shows up, the Titans should be able to score a couple touchdowns as well. I see this total way too low.
