The Carolin Panthers hit the road for a clash with the Indianapolis Colts.  The Panthers are (5-9), after falling to the Seattle Seahawks, 30-24.  The Colts are (6-8), coming off a 34-7 loss to the New Orleans Saints.

In the Panthers loss to the Seahawks, Carolina was led throughout the game by running back Christian McCaffrey.  McCaffrey rushed for 87 yds on 19 carries and 2 scores, while adding 88 yds receiving.  The Panthers were out gained, 428 to 414.  Carolina was down, 30-10, but scored the final 14 points of the game, but the comeback bid fell just short.  The Panthers were unable to overcome their 3 turnovers.

In the Colts loss to the Saints, Indianapolis was guided by quarterback Jacoby Brisset.  Brisste completed 18 of 34 passes for 165 yds.  The loan touchdown for the Colts came with under 4 minutes to go on a 1 yd run by Jordan Wilkins.  The Colts had trouble doing much of anything in this one, being dominated the whole game and being out gained, 424 to 205.  The Colts were only able to muster 46 yds rushing.  There were no turnovers by either team.

Recent Betting Trends:

Panthers are 2-8 ATS vs a team with a losing record.

Panthers are 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall.

The over is 4-0 in Panthers last 4 games overall.

Colts are 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall.

Colts are 1-6-2 ATS in their last 9 games vs a team with a losing record.

The over is 6-2 in Colts last 8 home games.

Both teams have looked awful in their last handful of game.  The Panthers have lost 6 in a row and 7 of their last 8, while the Colts have lost 4 in a row and 6 of their last 7.  During that stretch for the Colts, 4 of those losses have been by 3 points or less.  Both teams have been awful ATS when playing a team with a losing record.  The over has been profitable for both teams in recent games during their situations.  Both teams have been struggling and I'm not comfortable with picking either team to cover, as either team has the ability to blow out the other team or get blown out.  I'll take the over here, as this looks like it could be a high scoring game with both defenses ranked 18th or worse in points allowed.  Final score prediction, the Colts will win but the total goes over,  28-23.
