The Line: Indianapolis Colts -3 -- Over/Under: 47
The Indianapolis Colts and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers face off on Sunday in Week 12 NFL action.
The Indianapolis Colts are 5-5 this season and that s good enough for first place in the AFC South. The Colts offense is averaging 22.4 points and 345.9 yards per game with a minus six turnover ratio. Mat Hasselbeck continues to fill in a QB for Indy as Andrew Luck is out two to six weeks and for the season Hasselbeck has completed 65.7 percent of his passes with five touchdowns and two interceptions. Frank Gore is he Colts top rusher with 633 yards and four touchdowns and T.Y. Hilton is the leading receiver with 45 catches. The Colts defense is allowing 24.8 points and 392.3 yards per game with 13 interceptions, 14 sacks, and six fumble recoveries. D’Qwell Jackson leads Indianapolis with 100 tackles, Jerrell Freeman has 76 tackles, and Mike Adams has five interceptions. The Colts have benefited from a week AFC south but they need to generate a pass rush if they hope to win more games.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are 5-5 this season and they are hoping they can fly under the radar and sneak into the playoffs. The Buccaneers offense is averaging 23.6 points and 370.7 yards per game and they have a plus three turnover ratio. Bucs QB Jameis Winston has completed 58.3 percent of his passes with 15 touchdowns and nine interceptions and he has rushed for four touchdowns. Doug Martin has had a bounce back season to lead the Tampa Bay rushing attack with 941 yards and three touchdowns and Mike Evans is the leading receiver with 44 catches. The Buccaneers defense is allowing 25.4 points and 339.1 yards per game with 10 interceptions, 23 sacks, and 15 fumble recoveries. Lavonte David leads Tampa Bay with 87 tackles, Kwon Alexander has 73 tackles, and Gerald McCoy has 6.0 sacks. The Buccaneers are a work in progress but their growth maybe happening faster than many expected.
Indianapolis is 5-1 against the spread in their last six games, 23-9-1 against the spread in their last 33 home games, and 5-2 against the spread following a win. Tampa Bay is 5-1 against the spread in their last six road games, 3-8 against the spread following a game that they covered the point spread, and 5-1 against the spread in their last six games. Indianapolis has covered the point spread in their last four games against Tampa Bay.
The odds makers look to have this one right as it looks like a coin flip with three points going to the home team but I will take those points and my chances with the Bucs.
