The Tennessee Titans travel to Lucas Oil Stadium to take on divisional rivals Indianapolis Colts in a critical AFC South matchup. The Tennessee Titans are sitting at 6-5 on the season and just looking outside of the playoffs at the moment. The Titans are coming off their most impressive performance since week one, defeating the Jaguars 42-20. The Titans took control of the game in the third quarter scoring four touchdowns to end any chance of a Jaguars win.
The Titans have been living on the back of running back Derrick Henry, who has had a fantastic season, rushing for the fourth-most yards in the league (991) and fourth-most touchdowns (10). Rookie Wide Reciever AJ Brown has been a massive contributor for the Titans in his first season, eclipsing over 500 yards already this season. Both Henry and Brown were major factors in their win against Jacksonville, scoring three touchdowns overall and revitalizing the Titans offense. The Titans offense has been night and day difference since the benching of quarterback Marcus Mariota for Ryan Tannehill in the middle of October. Since Tannehill has taken over, the Titans are 4-1 and are back in the playoff and AFC South hunt.
The Indianapolis Colts have been a bit of a cinderella story, losing Pro bowl Quarterback Andrew Luck to retirement, they were counted out by many, but with Quarterback Jacoby Brissett, the Colts are currently 6-5 and have a chance at the playoffs. The Colts are coming off a controversial 20-17 loss to the Houston Texans, which saw DeShaun Watson’s fumble not be giving to the Colts and resulted not only in a loss for Indianapolis, but the Texans took them over in the division as well.
The Colts lost running back Marlon Mack last week, and backup Jonathan Williams stepped up in his place, rushing for 104 yards and a touchdown against Houston. Wide Reciever T.Y. Hilton made his comeback from injury last week, and though he didn’t do well, his return will be huge for the Colts as they attempt to make a run for the playoffs. The Colts run defense will be vital for the team as they face Derrick Henry, and the Colts only allow 97 rushing yards per game, due to Darius Leonard’s production, racking up 71 tackles so far this season.
Titans are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 meetings in Indianapolis.
Over is 5-0 in Titans last 5 games overall.
Colts are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 vs. AFC South.
Under is 5-1 in Colts last 6 games following a straight-up loss
The spread is the Colts -2.5, and I think the game is going to be ridiculously close. The Titans are on the upturn, while the Colts are falling down. However, I still think the Colts are still the more talented team, and if they contain Derrick Henry and make Tannehill throw the ball a lot, the Colts will win. Final Score Prediction, Colts win, and cover 27-21.
