The Kansas City Chiefs and the Detroit Lions will match up on the NFL circuit Sunday.
The Chiefs are rolling in here at 3-0 so far. Kansas City has taken out the Jaguars 40-26, the Raiders 28-10 and the Ravens 33-28 in the first three weeks.
In the Baltimore win, KC QB Patrick Mahomes posted 374 yards with three TDs, and Darrel Wiliams had 62 rush yards. Mecole Hardman led the receivers with 97 yards and a TD there.
Over on the Lions’ side, they’re 2-0-1 so far. Detroit tied with the Cardinals 27-27 in Week 1, then took out the Chargers 13-10 and the Eagles 27-24.
In the Week 3 win, Detroit QB Matthew Stafford logged 201 yards and a TD, with JD McKissic leading the rush on one big 44-yard carry. Marvin Jones went off for 101 yards and a score on six grabs as well.
The Chiefs are 5-1 ATS in their last six overall and 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 road games. Kansas City is 16-5 ATS in their last 21 in September and 1-4 ATS in their last four on turf.
Meanwhile, the Lions are 5-1 ATS in their last six games in Week 4 and 5-1 ATS in their last six in September. Detroit is 5-12 ATS versus a team with a winning record and 2-5 ATS in their last seven on turf.
It’s pretty much no surprise that the Chiefs are 3-0 so far, and they took out a good Ravens team in Week 3. What is a little surprising however, is the Lions’ early success, in that they’ve started out the first three weeks without a loss.
Still, going up against this dynamic Chiefs offense I’m skeptical that will continue. I’m going KC.
