The Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs end their preseason Thursday night at Arrowhead Stadium.
The Green Bay Packers can finish the preseason undefeated after beating the San Francisco 49ers. In the 21-10 victory, Joe Callahan led the way with 167 passing yards and one touchdown. Callahan will once again get majority of the reps in this game with the starters not playing. Geronimo Allison and Jared Cook combined for 130 receiving yards on seven catches while Randall Cobb had three receptions. The Green Bay Packers ground game averaged 3.8 yards per carry and John Crockett led the charge with 46 yards on 13 carries. Defensively, Kyler Fackrell led the Packers with four tackles, Christian Ringo had one sack and Marwin Evans had one pass deflection.
The Kansas City Chiefs should be a confident bunch after beating the Chicago Bears last week. In the 23-7 victory, Alex Smith led the way with 181 passing yards on 20 completions. Backup Nick Foles is sure to get majority of the reps in this game with the starters not playing. Tyreek Hill and Frankie Hammond combined for 108 receiving yards on four catches while Jeremy Maclin had five receptions. The Kansas City Chiefs ground game averaged 3.2 yards per carry and Smith led the charge with 25 yards on two carries. Defensively, Derrick Johnson led the Chiefs with four tackles, Dontari Poe had one sack and Chris Jones had one pass deflection.
The Packers are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 road games and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Chiefs are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games on grass and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 Thursday games. The underdog is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings.
You have to like the Chiefs backup quarterback situation, as it's a guy who was just a starter in this league. The Packers are one of those teams that's just waiting for the regular season to begin. I'll take the home team and the reasonable line here.
