NFL | Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-10) at Detroit Lions (8-4)

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Detroit Lions play Sunday at Ford Field.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have lost seven of their last eight games and are on pace for a high draft pick. Josh McCown is completing 59.2 percent of his passes for seven touchdowns and nine interceptions. McCown has three touchdowns and three picks in his last three games, and the Buccaneers have 44 passing plays of 20 or more yards. Vincent Jackson and Mike Evans have combined for close to 1,600 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns while Louis Murphy has seven receptions in his last two games. The Bucs ground attack is averaging 3.8 yards per carry, as Bobby Rainey leads the way with 406 rushing yards and one touchdown. Defensively, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are allowing 26.2 points, 361.3 yards, and they’ve forced 26 sacks and 19 turnovers. Lavonte David leads the Buccaneers with 116 tackles and Gerald McCoy has 8.5 sacks.

The Detroit Lions have won five of their last seven games and hope to remain in the NFC North hunt. Matthew Stafford is completing 60.4 percent of his passes for 15 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Stafford has two touchdowns and two picks in his last three games, and the Lions have 42 passing plays of 20 or more yards. Golden Tate and Calvin Johnson have combined for more than 1,800 receiving yards and eight touchdowns while Eric Ebron has nine of his 19 receptions in his last three games. The Lions ground game is averaging 3.3 yards per carry, as Joique Bell leads the way with 581 rushing yards and five touchdowns. Defensively, the Detroit Lions are allowing 17.3 points, 300.9 yards, and they’ve forced 29 sacks and 19 turnovers. DeAndre Levy leads Detroit with 116 tackles and Ezekiel Ansah has 6.5 sacks.

The Buccaneers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games and 1-6-1 ATS in their last 8 games in Week 14. The Lions are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games in December and 2-7 ATS in their last 9 home games vs. a team with a losing road record. The Buccaneers are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 meetings and the road team is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 meetings.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have either won or lost by 10 or less points in their last six games. While the Bucs aren't getting the results they'd like, they've done a good job of fighting and making a game out of each contest. The Lions have been up-and-down the last month, which forces me to take Tampa Bay and the points.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers +9.5
